Once there was a little snake who lived beneath some leaves.
A shy and kindly little snake who loved to be a tease.
So tease he would and hide away from all of his own kind.
Because you see, he could not see,
He was completely blind.
Then wish upon a wishing star he did one starry night.
That he would drift upon the wind and gain the gift of flight.
So when a giant came his way he wriggled and he sneezed.
“Oh notice me, I cannot see!
Oh take me with you please”.
He met the giant Ellie and the bearded one called George.
Who put him in a plastic box and sent him off aboard,
Upon the monster bird of flight he dreamed what he might see.
The wonders of the universe!
Though he missed the Woodlark trees.
So now he lives inside a zoo with lots of other snakes.
Room service brings his breakfast worms before he does awake.
His wish came true and now he lives the life of luxury.
With foreign and exotic friends,
He lives across the sea.
